BANGKOK (July 16, 2020) –Bridgestone in Thailand conducted a test on tires manufactured in year 2018, 2019 and 2020 to show that Bridgestone tires, which are manufactured with cutting-edge technologies, can consistently deliver high performance.

Test conducted on tires of 3 different manufacturing dates

The test, which was conducted at the Thai Bridgestone Proving Ground located at Ayutthaya province, compared tires of the same size and thread pattern manufactured this year and in 2019 and 2018. The tires, which were fitted onto cars of the same model and driven by the same test driver, had to go through 5 test stations that assessed tire performance in terms of Double Lane Change, High Speed Concerning, Wet Handling as well as Comfort & Noise and Pattern Noise.

The results showed that the tested Bridgestone tires – new or aged - consistently delivered high performance and maintained maximum handling and high responsiveness at high speed, on both wet and dry surfaces. The test results also showed that there was barely any difference in terms of comfort and noise.

“While tires do age, they are fit for use and continue to perform as long as they are properly stored1,” said Fumitaka Takaoka, Managing Director of Bridgestone Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

“The test result is a testament to Bridgestone’s commitment towards constantly improving its quality in the global manufacturing processes so as to continue to provide reliable, innovative and industry leading products for our customers,” he added.

1Tires are fit for use as long as they are stored properly. Ideally, tires should be kept in conditions where there are minimal changes to temperature, humidity and exposure to sunlight. This helps ensure the integrity of the tire and should easily allow for a recommended shelf life of up to 5 years.
