Thailand’s No.1 Boccia Athlete and Thai Bridgestone Teammate

“Worawut Saengampha” Officially Joined the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games

[Bangkok] (23 August 2019) – Mr. Worawut Saengampa (James), Thailand national No.1’s  Boccia athlete and Thai Bridgestone teammate officially joined to compete in Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Furthermore, he consistently showed unbeatable form and won 2 gold medals from “BISFed 2019 Seoul Boccia Asia-Oceania Regional Championships”, Republic of Korea, during 2-10 July 2019. Increasing company’s message “Chase Your Dream”, Bridgestone was committed to encourage Mr. Worawut to overcome challenges and strive its dream through Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Mr. Worawut Saengampa won 2 gold medals from “BISFed 2019 Seoul Boccia Asia-Oceania Regional Championships”.

Mr. Worawut's journey to be Thai Nation Para Boccia Athlete occurred since 9 years ago, when he began to study at Srisangwan School a foundation for the disabled in support of the royal patronage of HRH Srinagarindra The Princess Mother. Attending boarding school gave him free time and began to search for himself. Mr. Worawut spent time each day practicing sports. The turning point of Mr. Worawut came when he entered the university. He finally found the answer to himself that the opportunity did not come easily for the disabled. Therefore, he decided to intensively practice and did the best in every competitions. Worawut has gained experience from around the world and was able to build a reputation for Thailand, won the World Championship in less than 2 years. Another step of Mr. Worawut's is to win the gold medal from Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Moreover, Mr. Worawut is the ambassador of the San Fun Hero Plus project, which initiated by the National Paralympic Committee of Thailand, Sports Authority of Thailand, and other private organizations including Thai Bridgestone. On behalf of San Fun Hero Plus, Mr.Worawut aims to encourage disabled people to chase their dreams and inspire them to overcome obstacles and persevere in pursuit of their goals.

➢       1 Gold medal from Single BC2 and 1 Gold medal from Team BC1/2, from “BISFed 2018 Dubai Boccia World Open”, UAE, during 14-21 December 2018.

➢      1 Gold medal from Single BC2 and 1 Gold medal from Team BC1/2, from “BISFed 2019 Guangzhou Boccia Regional”, China, during 24-28 March 2019.

➢      1 Silver medal from Single BC2 and 1 Gold medal from Team BC1/2, from “BISFed 2019 Hong Kong Boccia World Open", Hong Kong, during 13-19 May 2019.

➢      1 Gold medal from Single BC2 and 1 Gold medal from Team BC1/2, from “BISFed 2019 Seoul Boccia Asia-Oceania Regional Championships", Seoul, during 3-8 July 2019.
